Prizes

The Combinatorial Mathematical Society of Australasia (CMSA) will award a prize of $300 to the best talk presented by a student. The aims of the prize are to foster student interest and involvement in the ACCMCC conferences and to encourage good presentation of student talks.

A jury of three people will judge the talks on the basis of the following critera:

  1. the motivation and setting of the general context;
  2. the methods used to present the material;
  3. the organisation and structure of the lecture;
  4. the originality of the substance of the lecture;
  5. the rapport with the audience.

Any speaker enrolled for a degree will be eligible for the prize; however, the jury may decide to vary this in unusual circumstances. The jury may also decide not to award any prize, or decide to have the prize shared.
